Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of analysts.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and delivery-focused culture.
- Promote continuous learning and development.
- Build analytical capabilities within the team, fostering skills in data storytelling, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of dashboards and ad hoc reports.
- Ensure reporting solutions align with business goals and drive actionable insights.
- Assess and modernize existing data infrastructure to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Evolve reporting deliverables from static data outputs to dynamic, insight-driven analytics that inform strategic decisions.
- Champion data governance by establishing and maintaining quality controls that ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across all reporting and analytics.
- Establish quality assurance and change management processes for all reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with Information Technology and data teams to enhance infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Partner with business leaders to understand needs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver insights.
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for decision-makers.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders, guiding the adoption of analytics to inform decisions and drive performance.
- Identify opportunities for automation and advanced analytics.
- Stay current on BI trends, tools, and technologies—bringing forward recommendations for adoption.
- Explore AI and predictive analytics opportunities aligned with business strategy.
- 2 years of experience leading or managing reporting or analytics teams.
- 7 years of hands-on experience with SQL, including writing complex queries and optimizing performance.
- 5 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics role.
- Expertise in Power BI (or similar tools like Tableau, Looker).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, including ETL processes, data modeling, and governance frameworks to ensure reliable and consistent reporting.
- Analytical mindset with experience applying statistical or predictive techniques to solve business problems and provide insights.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with demonstrated success in developing others
- Proven ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Suite e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate is desired.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, MIS, or Finance (Masters preferred).
