Position Overview
Veneklasen Associates is seeking a highly motivated Acoustical Consultant / Acoustics, Noise & Vibration Specialist to join our expanding global team. This is a full-time remote position.
In this role, you will support and lead consulting assignments related to architectural acoustics, building noise and vibration, environmental/community noise, industrial acoustics, and transportation noise/vibration. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including architects, engineers, project managers, and client representatives—to develop acoustical design solutions tailored to each project’s technical and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Analytical
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret acoustic and vibration data.
- Develop acoustical design solutions for:
- Room acoustics
- Sound isolation
- Environmental and community noise
- Mechanical noise and vibration control
- Industrial noise abatement
- Transportation noise and vibration (rail, roadway, aviation)
- Perform computerized modeling using software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, INSUL, EASE, Odeon, and finite element tools.
- Evaluate compliance with standards such as NBC, CPCB, ISO, ANSI, ASTM, HUD/DNL/CNEL, and project-specific criteria.
Project Management
- Manage and track multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Review architectural and engineering drawings and provide acoustical design recommendations.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and client discussions (virtual or in-person).
Documentation & Communication
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, drawings, specifications, and deliverables.
- Present analysis results and design strategies to internal teams and external clients.
- Maintain thorough project records and documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, or a directly related technical field.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience (consulting or research) in:
- Acoustics, noise control, or vibration analysis
- Environmental or architectural acoustics
- Measurement techniques and instrumentation
Soft Skills
