VendorRoot is seeking a driven, professional, and relationship-focused Industry Relationship Manager (IRM) to help grow and support our vendor clients within the multifamily industry. This role is built for someone who is confident in the field, enjoys meeting people, gathering market intelligence, opening doors, and creating valuable business opportunities through strong relationship-building.
The IRM will serve as a boots-on-the-ground representative of VendorRoot, helping strengthen client visibility, identify opportunities, gather real-time field intelligence, and support the overall growth of both VendorRoot and its vendor partners.
Primary Responsibilities Field Relationship Building
- Visit multifamily properties, management offices, and industry contacts within the assigned market
- Build relationships with property managers, regional managers, corporate teams, and industry decision-makers
- Represent VendorRoot and its clients in a professional and polished manner
- Serve as a connector between client needs, property needs, and business opportunities
Client Support & Market Intelligence
- Gather real-time information from the field on property needs, vendor performance, upcoming projects, staffing concerns, capital needs, and service pain points
- Identify opportunities for VendorRoot clients in areas such as maintenance, restoration, construction, staffing, flooring, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, and related services
- Provide useful feedback and insights from site visits that can help clients better position their services
- Report relevant competitive intelligence and relationship updates back to leadership
Lead Development & Opportunity Creation
- Help generate warm leads, introductions, and meeting opportunities for VendorRoot clients
- Assist in identifying new vendor clients that may be a fit for VendorRoot’s services
- Support top-down relationship development by helping uncover regional and corporate-level opportunities
- Encourage growth by helping VendorRoot bring on additional vendor clients, though direct sales are not the sole focus of the role
Internal Reporting & Accountability
- Maintain accurate visit records, notes, lead details, and relationship updates within company systems
- Participate in team meetings, strategy discussions, and reporting processes
- Track activity, follow-up items, and ongoing client-related opportunities
- Communicate clearly and consistently with leadership regarding field findings and progress
