Venatore is seeking an experienced F5 Administrator to support the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) program at MacDill AFB. The F5 Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of F5 BIG-IP appliances and virtual platforms. This role requires expertise in application delivery, load balancing, and security services to ensure the stability and performance of CENTCOM’s mission-critical IT systems.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced enterprise environment while supporting the warfighter mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain F5 BIG-IP appliances and virtual appliances running TMOS
- Perform daily operations including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning

Configure and manage F5 services, including:
- Local Traffic Manager (LTM) for load balancing and traffic distribution
- Application Security Manager (ASM/WAF) for application-layer protections
- Access Policy Manager (APM) for authentication and access control
- Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM) for network-layer security
- Apply firmware upgrades, patches, and security hardening following DoD and DISA standards
- Monitor device health, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Support existing high availability and failover configurations to ensure service continuity
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and coordinate with engineering teams on long-term solutions
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and operational baselines
- Work closely with network, system, and application teams to support deployments and troubleshoot application delivery issues (rather than leading solution design)
- Provide support during audits, inspections, and CCRI preparations
- Stay current on F5 updates, DoD STIGs, and enterprise best practices
Minimum Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance (U.S. Citizen)

Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree with 8 years relevant IT experience, OR
- AA/AS degree with 9 years relevant IT experience, OR
- HS/GED with 10 years relevant IT experience, OR
- MS degree with 3 years relevant IT experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience administering F5 BIG-IP platforms in an enterprise environment
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTP/S protocols
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification required (e.g., Security CE, CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
- F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) 300-level or higher
- Must have a valid U.S. passport and ability to travel internationally (up to 10%)
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs, RMF compliance, and security hardening
- Ability to work under pressure and support mission-critical operations
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience administering F5 in a DoD or large enterprise environment
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible, iControl REST)

- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
