Position: Program Coordinator (Youth Group Home – DDD Program)

VEMA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Coordinator to oversee our DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) group homes program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health, and/or Assisted Living settings. This role is critical in maintaining a structured, safe, and engaging environment for the members we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the group home and ensure compliance with DDD and state regulations.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to direct care staff.
- Maintain consistent routines while incorporating enriching home and community activities.
- Manage and document behavioral interventions in accordance with individual Behavior Treatment Plans.
- Utilize positive redirection and de-escalation techniques for managing acute behaviors.
- Ensure accurate completion of all required documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with families, DDD support coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Be available for on-call support (24/7) as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of direct behavioral health–related experience within an organization; or
- Minimum 4 years of behavioral health–related experience in an assisted living, behavioral health, residential, DDD, or nursing home setting.
- Prior management or supervisory experience required.
- Experience with DDD youth and/or DCS children preferred.
- Certified DCW background preferred.
- G-Tube experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of state and local regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of psychiatric illness, behavioral management, and psychotropic medications.
- Must have or be eligible to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Department of Public Safety.
- Must possess a clean AZ 39-month driving record and be an eligible driver.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and remain awake and alert throughout shifts.
- Must be able to complete all required trainings and participate in staff development.
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies.
