What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Automation Engineer position at Veltris?
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the overall automation test strategy, including defining scope and creating test plans that outline testing objectives, schedule, resources, environments, and tools.
- Engage early in requirement and design discussions to identify testability risks, define acceptance criteria, and propose automation approaches before implementation.
- Design, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks that align with Patterson’s project requirements, including standards and guidelines for scripting, reporting, and version control.
- Develop, review, and optimize automated test scripts to ensure reliability, maintainability, and reusability.
- Lead and manage the test automation team by assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, mentoring team members, and ensuring timely delivery of automation commitments.
- Work closely with the Patterson Quality Engineering Lead and Manager to drive team engagement, improve test efficiency, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of automated test suites, ensuring best practices are followed and adequate functional, regression, and integration test coverage is achieved.
- Plan and execute automation test runs, monitor execution progress, and analyze test results to identify defects, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Log, track, and manage defects; work closely with development and Quality Engineering teams to prioritize issues and verify fixes.
- Define and submit timely test data requirements for automation scenarios, coordinating with relevant Patterson stakeholders.
- Ensure timely execution of automated test suites and integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines, supporting continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Prepare and share clear test reports and status updates with Patterson Quality Engineering management and other stakeholders, highlighting risks, coverage, and key quality metrics.
- Design and manage test data strategies (mocking, seeding, synthetic data) and coordinate with DevOps/Infrastructure to keep test environments stable and automation-ready.
- Collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders (development teams, business analysts, product owners, and project managers) to align automation efforts with project requirements, release timelines, and quality goals.
- Track and report automation KPIs (coverage, pass rate, flakiness, execution time) and provide insights to improve efficiency and reliability of tests.
- Share automation best practices with other engineers, conduct demos or brown-bag sessions, and help uplift the overall automation skills of the team
Requirements:
Need strong test engineer with Automation skills to work with the Development team in India along with Clients in the US.
