Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using dental X-ray equipment and 3D scanners.
- Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and providing excellent patient care throughout their visit.
- Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures to maintain the highest standards of infection control and healthcare infection prevention.
- Collaborate with the dental team as part of four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency and patient outcomes while adhering to dental assisting protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix Ascend is a plus.
- Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental sterilization devices, and other clinical tools.
- Skilled in infection prevention management practices such as aseptic technique and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards; familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
- Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies strictly while managing sensitive medical information.
