What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Cultivation (Cannabis) position at veltiste wellness?
Veltiste Wellness is an ambitious cannabis start-up led by industry veterans, with assets in Michigan, Illinois and Missouri. The company is currently building out a large-scale, world-class cultivation facility in Western Michigan, and looking for a top-tier individual to join the team. This person will have a major impact on the cultivation operation, through their consultancy on the facility's design, and through building out and leading the cultivation operations team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the design of the cultivation facility and help oversee the construction
- Create and own the production and QA/QC systems around veg, flowering, trimming, curing, etc.
- Build out and manage full cultivation operations team
- Ensure cannabis is grown as cost-efficiently as possible, at consistent level-of-quality and yield
- Guide the replication of the cultivation production system across new facilities as the company expands to other markets
Skills and Qualifications
- MS/PHD in horticulture, agriculture, or plant sciences required
- Managerial experience required
- Cannabis experience preferred, but not required
- Tissue culture experience preferred, but not required
- Desire/ability to grow world-class cannabis at scale using aeroponics or hydroponics
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
