Velsite — East Texas

Pay: $13–$18 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Velsite is a growing commercial and post-construction cleaning company serving East Texas. We provide detailed cleaning services for commercial facilities, construction projects, turnovers, final cleans, and other professional jobsite environments.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Cleaning Technician who takes pride in their work and wants an opportunity to grow with the company.

This position is about more than simply cleaning. Our technicians are expected to learn and follow Velsite's cleaning procedures, properly identify different surfaces and finishes, select the appropriate cleaning methods, use chemicals and equipment safely, and consistently meet our quality standards.

Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial and post-construction cleaning according to Velsite procedures and project requirements
• Clean floors, walls, doors, fixtures, restrooms, kitchens, offices, hallways, glass and other assigned areas
• Remove construction dust, dirt, debris, adhesive residue and other jobsite soils when included in the project scope
• Perform detailed final, turnover and punch-list cleaning
• Sweep, dust, vacuum, mop and detail assigned areas
• Properly use cleaning chemicals according to product labels, safety requirements and Velsite procedures
• Use microfiber systems, mops, vacuums, brushes, glass-cleaning equipment and other professional cleaning tools
• Maintain and properly care for company equipment, chemicals and supplies
• Follow jobsite safety requirements and instructions from Velsite management
• Identify and immediately report damage, unusual conditions or surfaces that may require special treatment
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional work area
• Work professionally around customers, general contractors, subcontractors and other trades
• Complete assigned work efficiently without sacrificing quality
• Participate in final inspections and correct deficiencies when required

Professional cleaning experience is not required for the right candidate. Velsite provides training.

Physical Requirements

This position can involve:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Bending, kneeling, reaching and crouching
• Lifting and carrying cleaning equipment and supplies
• Repetitive cleaning motions
• Working around construction sites
• Working indoors and outdoors depending on the project
• Performing physical work for extended periods

Pay & Bonus Opportunities

$12–$18/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Velsite may also offer production and quality-based bonus opportunities.

Drug & Alcohol Screening

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required pre-employment drug and/or alcohol screening.

Employees may also be required to participate in random and/or reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing, as permitted by applicable law and Velsite policy.

Failure to comply with required testing procedures or violation of applicable Velsite workplace policies may result in withdrawal of an employment offer or disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
