What You’ll Do:

The Business Development Associate position will streamline the front-end process of loan submission for Business Development Officers at VelocitySBA. BDA will provide support to review documents for accuracy, process items within appropriate systems, maintain beginner to intermediate knowledge of credit and SBA compliance, and accurately package loans for submission to Credit for decisioning.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize all required documentation for Loan Submission to underwriting.
  • Develop list of items needed to complete an assessment of credit worthiness and SBA eligibility of the loan request.
  • Provide highest level of customer service to all internal parties, maintaining highest level of professionalism in both written and verbal communication.
  • Maintains strong working knowledge of all applicable Velocity SBA Policies and Procedures directly or indirectly related to areas of responsibility and ensures policy requirements are carried out.
  • Ensures responsibilities below are carried out in compliance with all applicable SBA, Federal, & State regulations, Velocity SBA policies & procedures, and to ensure audit, compliance, and regulatory findings related to specific areas of responsibility resolved timely in accordance with managements’ approved action plan.
  • Review financial statements, tax returns and relevant data provided by a potential applicant for accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for submitting complete and accurate loan application packages to Credit across all origination platforms.
  • Responsible for working with multiple parties to ensure information is obtained and assisting with ordering appraisals and environmental reports, as applicable.
  • Oversee multiple transactions concurrently to ensure all active loan applications are moving forward and current status is reported on the Pipeline Report.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Velocity SBA’s written policies and procedures regarding Regulation B, Bank Secrecy Act, Bank Security and all other regulations applicable to this job description.
  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters Velocity SBA corporate culture in all actions and words.
  • Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.
  • Embraces all goals and objectives of Velocity SBA.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent and relevant work experience.
  • General understanding of SBA lending parameters and basic credit analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external customer expectations.
  • Proficient with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel
  • Demonstrate articulate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess excellent organization skills.
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills to navigate high demands and tight timelines.
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of SBA Policy and Procedures.

Compensation:

  • Base Pay: $24-$25/hr. (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Full Time position (Hybrid role)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test and background check.
