We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Coach to lead our competitive 10U/12U travel softball team. This is a great opportunity for a dedicated softball coach who loves developing young athletes, building a positive team culture, and competing at the travel level.

The ideal candidate will design and run high-quality training programs, lead practices and tournaments, and help our players grow both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs focused on fundamental and advanced softball skills, including hitting, fielding, pitching, base running, situational strategy, and mental conditioning.
  • Plan and lead two (2) practices per week (approximately 2–3 hours each) during the season (typically spring through fall), including securing facilities and managing equipment.
  • Organize and coach 3–5 scrimmages per season to build game experience.
  • Lead the team in 8–14 tournaments throughout the year, including 3–5 fall, 1–3 winter, and 4–6 summer events (local, regional, and national).
  • Handle all game-day responsibilities: lineups, pitching rotations, defensive alignments, and in-game adjustments.

  • Supervise and delegate tasks to the Assistant Coach to maximize player development and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and team staff regarding schedules, expectations, and updates.
  • Foster a positive team culture, enforce team policies, and monitor player health and safety.
  • Maintain player attendance records, performance metrics, and game statistics. Assist with roster management and provide progress reports to team directors.
  • Actively participate in and help plan/execute 3–5 player clinics or camps hosted by the organization (additional compensation may be available based on clinic revenue).

Compensation:

  • Total compensation: $1,750 for the full season (September 1 – August 31)
  • $1,000 paid upon signing the agreement
  • $750 paid on or before June 1
  • Reimbursement of up to $250 for reasonable travel expenses (mileage, lodging, meals) with proper receipts and expense report.
  • Opportunity for additional compensation for running player clinics/camps (split or percentage of net income at the organization's discretion).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven coaching experience in youth softball, preferably at the competitive travel level (experience with 10U–14U age groups strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
  • Ability to motivate and develop young athletes while maintaining a positive and safe environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain if required).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel for tournaments and commit to the full season schedule.

Term:
September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027 (with possibility of renewal by mutual agreement).
