SEC SENIOR REPORTING ANALYST

Velocity Commercial Capital, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Velocity Financial, Inc, an NYSE-listed public company. Velocity Commercial Capital is a real estate finance company founded in 2004 that primarily originates and manages investor loans secured by 1–4-unit residential rental and small commercial properties. Velocity Commercial Capital is seeking to hire a full-time SEC Senior Reporting Analyst.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a SEC Senior Reporting Analyst, based in Westlake Village, CA, with the flexibility to work remotely most of the time. The SEC Senior Reporting Analyst, working with the financial reporting team in collaboration with other departments (mainly Accounting), will assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual reports on public filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings) and the Earnings Release.

Duties and Responsibilities

·        Prepare Forms 10-Q and 10-K pursuant to SEC Regulations.

·        Prepare supporting schedules and calculations.

·        Prepare and analyze audit schedules.

·        Research technical accounting issues and draft note disclosures and memos.

·        Prepare the Earnings Release with support for validation.

·        Assist with audits/examinations and special projects.

·        Assist the SOX team with special assignments necessary to support business strategy.

·        Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values.

·        Fulfill role-based compliance, personal skills and professional development requirements.

·        Adhere to company code of conduct and policies & procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

·        3-5 years of experience in SEC reporting or public accounting; Big 4 preferred; SEC filing tool a plus

·        Financial services background

·        Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills

·        Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills

·        Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements and regulations

·        Able to multi-task with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines

·        Detail-oriented

·        Deadline-oriented

Education Requirements

·        4-year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
