Assistant Project Manager - Janitorial Services

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support janitorial operations for a large account. This role is responsible for assisting with daily operations, team supervision, quality control, staffing support, and client service while working closely with frontline employees and leadership.

The ideal candidate is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the team when needed. This position is assigned to a specific shift and requires flexibility, accountability, and strong leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the overall janitorial operations for the assigned account and shift
• Assist with supervising frontline janitorial staff and team leads
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met
• Help coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and employee performance
• Step in and assist with cleaning duties during staffing shortages, high-volume periods, or special projects
• Maintain open communication with management, employees, and the client
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
• Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and equipment oversight
• Support onboarding and training of new employees
• Address operational issues and escalate concerns when necessary
• Help maintain a positive team culture focused on accountability, safety, and customer service
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or facilities services experience required
• Prior leadership, supervisor, or assistant management experience preferred
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to work alongside the team
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced operational environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience with employee coaching, scheduling, and quality inspections preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical job duties as needed
• Flexibility to work assigned shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
  
  

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a drug screening
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass a federal background check required for badging at the assigned location
• Must maintain eligibility for site access and badging requirements at all times
  
  

Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on operations role that requires visibility on the floor and engagement with the team. The Assistant Project Manager is expected to lead by example and assist with operational duties when needed to support the success of the account.
