Part-Time Deli/Café Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli/Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting in the daily operations of our cafe. This position requires a passion for food and beverages, along with strong interpersonal skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with menu selections.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including kitchen and dining spaces.
• Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
• Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the food industry.

Experience

• Some experience in customer service (preferred)
• English speaker with strong communication skills
• Comfortable using technology (POS systems, social media, etc.)
• Experience in the food industry is a plus but not required
• A proactive and positive attitude
