Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing extrusion line test runs
• Analyzes test run results
• Responsible for making fine tuning adjustments
• Implements modifications to existing tooling as required and documents all modifications performed on tooling.
• Responsible for tooling assembly
• Responsible milling, grinding, polishing the surface of tools and dies and adjusting parts so that they fit together properly
• Responsible for inspecting completed tooling to ensure that it meets VEKA specifications
• Supports extrusion line operation and setup
• Follow all VEKA’s safety guidelines
• All other duties as assigned.
  
  

Prerequisite Skills

• In-depth and advanced knowledge of the extrusion process, extrusion operator level 3 completion, production tuning technician completion and fine tuning technician completion
• Knowledge of tooling components
• Familiarity with machining processes
• Aptitude for mechanical process
• Proficient mathematical knowledge
• Proficient use of AutoCAD
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Passion for safety and quality
• Good verbal communications skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities through excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Accountability, assertiveness, dependability, and responsiveness are essential.
  
  

Prerequisite Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent/Vocational School required
• Completed Extrusion Operator Level 3 and Production Tuning Technician qualification
• Completed Fine Tuning Technician Apprenticeship program (3 Years = 6240 hours)

Physical Requirements

• Essential functions of this job are to perform a range of physical activities throughout the workday, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, fingering, talking, hearing and engaging in repetitive motions.
• An essential function of this job is to lift and or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Must be available with predictable and regular attendance onsite to perform the essential functions above under key functions whenever employee is scheduled to work
