Job Description
The Accounting Intern will assist with various projects within the accounting department including, but not limited to, account reconciliations, updating/creating financial statement reports in Excel, general journal and job cost entry adjustments and other duties as assigned by management.

A Day in the Life
- Prepares and enters general journal and job cost adjustment entries.
- Creates account reconciliation templates for all balance sheet accounts for all Veit Entities and completes the reconciliations.
- Updates/creates financial statement reports in Excel.
- Keeps supervisor informed of known actions, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect company operations.
- Other projects or duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum of 1 year education working toward completion of Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or related area of study.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must clearly communicate directions and information to all levels of management, employees, vendors, and business associates. Speaks effectively before groups as well as individuals. Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend and act on simple instructions.
- Must possess the ability to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility.
- Interest and desire to work within the construction industry.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Position is temporary, lasting no more than 5 months in duration.
