Join a Practice Where You Can Rediscover Why You Chose Medicine!

Are you a Primary Care or Family Medicine APP who loves patient care but is tired of rushed appointments and endless evening charting? Imagine practicing medicine in an environment where you have the time to truly care for your patients, collaborate with a supportive team, continue learning, and complete your documentation during the workday.

At The Vein Healthcare Center (VHC) in South Portland, we offer a refreshing alternative to traditional primary care. Led by Dr. Cindy Asbjornsen, DO, FAVLS, DABVLM, RPhS, our growing private practice specializes exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of venous and lymphatic disorders. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and collaborative Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our patient-centered team.

Whether you're looking to escape burnout, specialize in a new field, or simply find a better work-life balance, we'd love to meet you.

Prior experience in vein care is not required; we provide comprehensive, hands-on training in all aspects of phlebology, including supporting your efforts to earn you RPhS within the first year of joining our team.

Why Join VHC?

Work/Life Balance - Enjoy flexible scheduling with no evenings, weekends, or call responsibilities. Our appointment times allow you to provide exceptional patient care while completing your documentation during the workday so you can leave work at work.

Competitive Compensation - We offer hourly compensation so you are paid for every minute you work, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) with employer match, health insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and tuition/CME reimbursement.

Exceptional Professional Growth

No previous vein care experience is required. We believe exceptional clinicians can learn exceptional specialties. You'll receive comprehensive one-on-one training while working alongside experienced providers in the region's leading vein practice.

As your skills develop, you'll have opportunities to gain expertise in venous and lymphatic disease, learn venous ultrasound interpretation, develop ultrasound-guided procedural skills, train in sclerotherapy, work toward earning your Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS) credential with practice support, and participate in clinical research and the implementation of new technologies and treatments.

No two days are exactly alike. You'll combine clinical care with procedural medicine, diagnostic imaging, patient education, care coordination, referral review, insurance collaboration, and teamwork with an experienced multidisciplinary staff. As our practice continues to grow, you'll have opportunities to expand your skills while helping shape an innovative specialty practice.
