Veggie Galaxy (www.veggiegalaxy.com) is an award-winning, high-volume 90-seat vegetarian diner and vegan bakery located in Central Square, Cambridge, MA. We have a small management team and currently have an opportunity to bring a new Manager onboard. Applicants must be customer-oriented, high energy and enthusiastic self starters with a love of people and knack for service. The position includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Positively contribute to our culture of hospitality and professionalism through teaching, supporting and leading by example
2. Hiring all front of house team members while considering the competencies and characteristics required of the position applied for; most notably an ability to provide great hospitality, to multitask and to positively impact the performance of the rest of our team
3. Assist in providing timely and thorough onboarding, training, development and ongoing coaching to all team members, to ensure their success and our guests’ satisfaction.
4. Be an active presence on the floor during each shift; support staff and interact with guests to ensure that all guests leave here happy with their experience and wanting to return
5. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Veggie Galaxy’s policies and procedures, as well as the ability to hold team members accountable to such policies
6. Work with ownership to develop, implement and maintain a strategic growth plan
7. Ensure the consistent use of all systems, including opening and closing procedures
8. Communicate with Kitchen Managers during each shift on food-related issues/concerns
9. Complete assigned daily office tasks, including daily cash reports and placing or directing the placing of orders
10. Maintain a clean and organized facility at all times as well as a safe and healthy work environment
11. As part of the Veggie Galaxy Management Team, represent the owners’ vision and philosophy in order to achieve our service, hospitality and sales goals
12. Be willing to work a combination of some days/evenings/weekends and holidays (we close on Thanksgiving and Christmas)
13. Be systems and numbers driven while balancing the needs of the team.

Skills & Experience requirements:
Minimum of 5 year restaurant or cafe supervisor/team lead experience
Multi Unit experience a plus
Availability to work at least 50 hours per week, more as needed
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Ability to take initiative
Cooking and line experience a plus
The General Manager reports to the Managing Partner and participates in weekly Management Team meetings.
