Bakery Assistant and Cake Decorator

Join our creative and talented bakery team as a Bakery Assistant and Cake Decorator. In this role, your passion for baking and creative expression will shine! This is a hands on, dynamic role where you will assist our Head Baker in all daily bakery operations, decorating cakes, donuts, scones, buns, cookies and pies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to blend leadership with hands-on baking in a lively, fast-paced environment dedicated to delighting customers with delicious vegan treats.

This is a full time positon, aproximately 40 hours per week, including Saturday and Sunday shifts.

Duties

• Assist in the oversight of daily bakery operations, including food preparation, baking, and packaging to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, creativity, and attention to detail to meet customer specifications and elevate presentation.
• Manage inventory levels of ingredients, supplies, and packaging materials, placing orders as needed to maintain stock.
• Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety regulations and uphold the highest standards of food safety.
• Assist in leading a team of bakery staff by providing training on cake decorating techniques, food production processes, and customer service excellence.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace in accordance with health codes and safety protocols.
• Assist customers with product selections, answer questions about ingredients or customization options, and provide outstanding service to foster loyalty.

Experience

• Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or bakery management within the food industry. Experience with vegan baking is a plus.
• Strong background in food preparation, baking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
• Familiarity with catering or restaurant experience is a plus for understanding large-scale food production needs.
• Skilled in knife handling, food presentation, packaging techniques, and culinary craftsmanship to produce visually appealing baked goods. Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
