Sr Business analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Analyst with a strong foundation in financial services and agile delivery. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex requirements into clear, actionable specifications. The ideal candidate brings exceptional communication and facilitation skills, deep expertise in documentation standards, and domain knowledge in payment systems or transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Management: Elicit, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements (BRDs), functional requirements (FRDs), user stories, use cases, and detailed process maps.

• Agile & Scrum Execution: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives); manage and track artifacts efficiently using JIRA and Confluence.

• Stakeholder Facilitation: Lead workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with cross-functional teams, business leaders, and technical architects, ensuring clear alignment across all parties.

• Process & Workflow Optimization: Design end-to-end process maps and workflows, with an emphasis on transaction lifecycles and operational efficiency.

• Data & Rules Analysis: Analyze complex business logic, support rule engine configurations, and write SQL queries to extract data, validate requirements, and perform data profiling.

• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all solutions align with industry best practices and relevant regulatory or government compliance standards.

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Experience: Proven track record as a Business Analyst within the financial services industry.

• Core Documentation Skills: Expertise in authoring Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), detailed User Stories, Use Cases, and Process Maps.

• Methodologies & Tools: Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with advanced proficiency in JIRA.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience with transaction processing, lockbox operations, or payment clearing/settlement systems.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Federal Government standards, security protocols, and compliance frameworks.

• Technical Tools: Proficiency in Confluence for team collaboration and documentation, and the ability to write and interpret SQL queries for data analysis.

• Advanced Logic Systems: Experience working with Rules Engines and Business Process Management (BPM) tools.
