Overview:
Veeco is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our Marketing Communications Team. This role will work on internal communications, marketing communications, social media management, sales support, and media interaction. In this role, you will be in a unique position to gain advanced insights into the breadth of communication activities that directly impact the overall perception of Veeco and the company's culture. Your contributions to our Communications team will make a material difference in telling the Veeco story. You will bring a keen and concise writing style that effectively delivers meaningful news and information to our various audiences. In many projects, you'll create compelling visuals to enhance the content.

Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Communications Manager, this position will sit in Plainview, New York or Somerset, NJ. Role can be hybrid once trained but must be able to commute to one of these two offices.

Responsibilities:

• Source and prepare content for email communications, website copy, and internal news articles
• Utilize social media best practices to create brand awareness and thought leadership
• Bring fresh ideas to the communications effort that promote company goals
• Create and implement a communications calendar
• Create and maintain a digital asset library
• Maintain design brand consistency throughout all projects following Veeco’s brand guidelines
• Perform market analysis and research on the latest trends in our space
• Independently maintain and collaboratively update the company’s external website
• Create, maintain, and report metrics dashboards for various communication activities
• Prepare detailed corporate and product presentations
• Support tradeshows, conferences, and events

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related major is required. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Must have a strong understanding of social media platforms and design software.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Exceptional writing abilities and judgment to represent the Veeco brand
• Strong proficiency in design and creative software and platforms like Canva, Adobe, and/or FinalCut Pro
• Ability to design and create content for internal and external use (e.g., blogs, social media, white papers, etc.), including audio/video editing skills
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word and basic Excel)
• Advanced knowledge of utilizing social media platforms (primarily LinkedIn)
• Ability to conduct basic research, including one-on-one or group interviews
• Outstanding self-management and organizational skills

The expected salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 bonus benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
