Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring efficient warehouse operations, and supporting our supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management systems, data analysis, and root cause analysis to enhance our operational efficiency.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
A. 2 years minimum of Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
B. 1-2 Years in Manufacturing environment.
C. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
D. Self-direction and ability to follow written work instructions.
E. Previous Supply Chain or Purchasing experience preferred.
F. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Tracking logistics and responsible for assuring that stocked materials are maintained at
adequate levels to support the planned production.
B. Efficiently sourcing raw materials, manufacturing products, storing inventory, and
transporting shipments to manage inventory levels.
C. Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations and stock levels.
D. Coordinate with project management, production supervisors and/or purchasing
personnel to assure that adequate materials are available for each project and assist
when specific project materials are required.
E. Attends weekly shop production meeting.
F. Responsible for planning and performing inventory cycle counts on a regular basis.
G. Responsible for planning and performing physical inventory reporting, as required.
H. Full awareness of all OSHA guidelines and assist with safety in the manufacturing
environment.
I. Evaluate “Excess job material” once project has shipped and coordinate with the project
manager and shipping/receiving coordinator to determine and execute one of the
following:
Return to Vendor
Scrap
Transfer Excess Inventory for future use.
J. Ensuring that the purchased products and services are of the highest quality and meet
the safety standards.
K. Visiting suppliers to screen their products and services.
L. Researching new products to determine whether they match a company's brand and
customer base.
M. Negotiating prices with suppliers to receive deals on materials or products.
N. Discovering new suppliers.
O. Evaluating supplier proposals, requesting quotes and negotiating prices.
P. Reviewing pricing and product requirements from multiple vendors to have the best
value.
Q. Communicating product specifications to other teams.
R. Relationship management.
S. Placing orders with suppliers, monitoring delivery timescales and chasing any late
deliveries.
T. Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain Management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
