What You’ll Do
As an HR Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring smooth delivery of HR programs and initiatives across our U.S. and Canadian teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- HR Administration & Compliance: Maintain employee records, ensure HR policies and practices comply with U.S. federal and state laws, and Canadian legislation.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Support end-to-end recruitment for select roles, coordinate interviews, assist with job fairs and recruiting events, and facilitate onboarding and orientation.
- HRIS Management: Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and generate reports as needed.
- Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related inquiries, policies, and processes.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Assist with drafting and updating company policies, handbooks, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Benefits Administration: Support the administration of U.S. employee benefits (health, retirement, leave programs, etc.) and assist with Canadian benefits as needed.
- HR Projects: Contribute to special HR initiatives such as engagement programs, training coordination, and process improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a generalist or HR coordinator role.
- Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of US employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience or familiarity with Canadian HR practices is a strong asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, discretion, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification is an asset.
