Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, integration, and testing of electrical systems supporting maritime and Naval weapon systems, including missile launchers and associated support equipment. This role provides advanced expertise in electrical engineering analysis, system design, and integration of sensors and electrical components within complex weapons systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer supports concept development, system integration, fabrication coordination, and testing activities while ensuring system performance, reliability, and compliance with program requirements.

Essential Duties: 

  • Lead electrical engineering design, analysis, and integration efforts for maritime, missile, launcher, and weapons control systems.
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components used in missile launcher systems and related support equipment.
  • Integrate sensor technologies, including tracking and guidance sensors, into projectiles and weapon systems.
  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and system design using industry-standard engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Support development and integration of power systems, embedded controllers, and linear drive systems.
  • Coordinate electrical fabrication activities and support system integration and prototype development.
  • Support electrical testing activities, including functional testing, system validation, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including system specifications, design documents, analysis reports, and engineering artifacts.
  • Provide technical input during design reviews, engineering evaluations, and program technical meetings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support system development, testing, and deployment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.

Experience:

  • Experience with Naval Surface Warfare Center / DoD Test and Evaluation support preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of professional technical experience.
  • At least five (5) years of specialized experience in the concept definition, design, integration, and engineering of maritime, launcher, missile, weapon, or weapon control systems.
  • Experience performing electrical engineering analysis and design activities.
  • Experience utilizing electrical engineering software tools to support system design and analysis.
  • Experience coordinating electrical fabrication activities and supporting electrical engineering testing techniques.
  • Experience in the design and integration of sensors, including tracking and guidance sensors, into projectiles and weapon systems.
  • Experience in the design, development, and testing of missile launcher electrical equipment.
  • Experience supporting the development and integration of power systems, embedded controllers, and linear drive systems.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and electrical system design methodologies.
  • Experience with electrical system integration within missile, launcher, and Naval weapons systems.
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies used in tracking and guidance systems for projectiles and weapon platforms.
  • Expertise in power systems, embedded controllers, and linear drive systems.
  • Ability to perform electrical system analysis, design, and performance evaluation.
  • Experience coordinating electrical fabrication, integration, and prototype development activities.
  • Ability to support system testing, validation, and engineering performance assessments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex electrical engineering challenges.
  • Ability to develop technical reports, system documentation, and engineering specifications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Salary: The projected salary range for this position is $110,000-$175,000 and is based on experience and contractual requirements. However, this is not a guarantee of salary.
