We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Technician with hands on experience inspecting mechanical and electronic assemblies. In this role, you’ll perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on precision components, solder joints, and PCB assemblies while collaborating with engineers and technicians to uphold our stringent quality standards. Your contributions will directly support the development and production of cutting edge optical and electronic technologies.
What You'll Do:
- Perform precision inspections: Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections on mechanical parts, solder joints, printed circuit boards (PCBs), assemblies, and packaged products, using appropriate inspection tools and test equipment.
- Maintain detailed records: Document inspection results, maintain build records, and update databases to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate and improve: Work closely with manufacturing, production, and quality engineers to troubleshoot issues, drive corrective actions, and refine inspection procedures.
- Support logistics: Assist with material handling, non‑conforming material disposition, and coordination of parts flow between suppliers, inventory, and production.
- Champion 5S and process improvements: Uphold 5S principles on the production floor, proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Additional duties: Support other manufacturing and quality activities as assigned, including equipment calibrations, first article inspections, and process audits.
What We're Looking For:
- Education & Experience: 2-year technical degree or equivalent with 5 years in electronics/mechanical manufacturing or quality environment. Hands on experience with mechanical inspection, solder joint inspection (IPC standards), and PCB assembly inspection is highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, microscopes, optical comparators, multimeters, and related inspection tools.
- Process Discipline: Methodically follow detailed procedures while contributing to process improvements and document updates.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience with 5S, lean manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to identify and implement improvements in inspection and production processes.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable collaborating with engineers, technicians, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and ensure on‑time delivery.
- Logistics Experience (Plus): Experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, or supplier coordination is a plus.
- Compliance: Must meet U.S. export control requirements for “U.S. persons” (citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals).

Pay Range
The approximate base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000 per year. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, equity and benefits. It's atypical to be hired at the top end of this range for the role, as actual pay is based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience level.
