Position Summary
The Chemical Services Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and execution of chemical cleaning and decontamination projects in the field. This role serves as both a technical expert and crew leader, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications.
Supervisors are accountable for team performance, client satisfaction, and operational execution, while maintaining Vecta’s high standards for safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a crew of Operators and Technicians.
- Provide hands-on training to ensure understanding of technical scope, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Project Execution & Oversight
- Plan, assign, and oversee daily field activities.
- Direct setup and operation of chemical circulation systems, pumps, hoses, and temporary piping.
- Ensure proper system parameters (flow rates, pressures, temperatures) are maintained to meet project KPIs.
Safety Leadership
- Lead daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety meetings, and safety stand-downs.
- Enforce all OSHA, company, and client safety standards.
- Maintain Stop Work Authority and act as the final on-site decision-maker for safety compliance.
Operational Performance
- Monitor crew productivity, equipment usage, and job progress to meet timelines.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently without compromising quality or safety.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges in real time.
Resource & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure proper allocation of personnel, equipment, chemicals, and PPE.
- Coordinate with Operations Management to address staffing, equipment, or scheduling needs.
Technical Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve issues with pumps, valves, heating units, and circulation systems.
- Provide technical guidance to crew members in the field.
Client Engagement
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients.
- Lead job walk-throughs, provide updates, and ensure work meets or exceeds expectations.
What You Bring
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years in industrial chemical cleaning, refinery operations, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience leading or supervising field crews.
- Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and resolve on-site challenges.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
- Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of chemical circulation systems, flow dynamics, and industrial cleaning processes.
- Experience with pumps, hoses, and process equipment.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform duties in outdoor industrial environments.
