Position Summary:
Vecima is searching for a Senior Sales Engineer, DOCSIS SME. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. This person should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Provide a leadership role in major account product acceptance testing, integration, and rollout
- Travel to customer locations across the world providing in depth product support and training
- Document advanced procedures and operations
- Provide technical support to Vecima’s DOCSIS product customers
- Test, troubleshoot, train and provide technical explanations of product installations and applications in a Cable DOCSIS environment
Position requirements:
- Knowledge of HFC & FTTx PON distributed access architecture and deployments including experience with prevalent distributed access architecture technologies such as MACPHY, RPHY and 10G EPON.
- Knowledge of DOCSIS, DOCSIS consumer premise equipment device configuration, and DOCSIS Provisioning over Ethernet.
- Understanding and hands on experience with data networking infrastructures, converged interconnect networks, and the associated technologies: Routing/Switching, L2/L3, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing Protocols (BGP/ISIS/OSPF, etc.), MPLS, LDP, VPN, Multicast, cloud technologies, DHCP, Linux, Network Troubleshooting, PTP and timing protocols
- Experience in the service provider sector deploying distributed access architecture platforms, HFC and FTTx PON optical solutions.
- Experience with traditional I-CCAP solutions including CMTS, Edge QAM, Outside Plant.
- Strong organizational, collaborative work skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
