Overview
The Stockroom and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are stored efficiently and safely. This role supports daily operations by keeping the stockroom organized and providing timely distribution of parts, materials, and supplies.
Essential Functions:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Pulls kits, issues material and take to production area.
- Coordinate with purchasing, production, and other departments regarding inventory needs and discrepancies.
- Moves shipments, parts, received materials, etc. as needed in the department.
- Tag, label, and store materials in designated areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile variances
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager.
- Maintains highest standards of quality and quantity.
- Maintains a high degree of cooperation with supervision and other employees.
- Aggressive in work assignments and learning new jobs.
- Assists in the training of new employees.
- Other duties and responsibilities may include hazardous waste disposal and working in shipping, in addition to the essential functions listed above.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Perform basic shop math.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Ability to use and understand simple and more complex measuring tools.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to work well with others and in a team environment.
- Ability to life up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and reach for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or stockroom operations preferred.
- Experienced using a PC and related company systems.
