Job Summary
In this role, you will conduct vibration, acoustic noise, and magnetic field testing of high-tech manufacturing equipment, electron microscopes, and nano research equipment. You will also assist with on-site installation and possible equipment calibration troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Site Testing
- On-Site Testing: Visit high-tech facilities and laboratories, conduct a site survey, and determine if a location is suitable for an instrument before or after installation. Testing includes sensitive vibration, AC and DC magnetic field measurements, and acoustic noise measurements, both through spot testing and writing programs for multi-day testing, depending on customer and project requirements.
- Reporting: Create reports using our software to communicate findings and recommendations to customers, submit timely reports, and escalate issues to management.
On-site installation support
- Work with the installation team to provide professional, best-in-class installations for our Spicer Magnetic Field Cancellation Systems and our Daeil Vibration isolation platforms
Optional/Advanced Responsibilities:
These responsibilities may be assigned based on experience level, project requirements, or team needs:
- EMI Modeling: Analyze electromagnetic interference data and perform simulations to assess field impacts in sensitive environments.
- Acoustic Modeling: Use modeling tools to evaluate and predict sound behavior in lab spaces, aiding in mitigation strategy design.

Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Technical training in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree
- Equivalent experience in high-tech equipment maintenance may be considered.
Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software used for high-tech equipment.
Trade Skills:
- Conduct light construction work, including installing wire molding, cables, and pneumatic hosing.
- Work often occurs at ladders and heights up to 10 feet.
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship are of the utmost importance.
Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) and work flexible hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific OEM equipment (e.g., Applied Materials, Lam Research, ASML, KLA, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Zeiss).
- Experience supporting technical equipment with an electrical or mechanical software/hardware interface.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel to customer sites (mostly domestic, occasionally international)
- Sometimes work in cleanroom environments with specialized attire (e.g., gowns, gloves, masks).
- May require lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
