Objectives of this Role
- Installing and configuring hardware and equipment: This includes routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and workstations.
- Configuring servers and workstations: This includes connecting them to the LAN and the internet.
- Troubleshooting connectivity issues: This includes diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with PCs, software, and communications devices.
- Updating and upgrading components: This includes applying patches, updates, and backups.
- Maintaining network security protocols and access controls: This may include managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Providing technical support to end users: This may include responding to requests for assistance within established procedures.
- Collaborating with senior administrators: This may include working with network engineers and telecommunications systems.
- Communicate with senior network administrators, managers, vendors, and other stakeholders about network status, issues, and solutions.
- Have good organizational, writing, and presentation skills, as well as the attention to detail and accuracy to keep track of network data and information.
- Able to communicate clearly and in a professional manner, with the team and with the customer
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent, and some post-secondary education or training in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- Some work experience in IT support or help desk roles
- 0-2 years of experience
