VEA Connect is actively seeking a certified and experienced Fiber Optic Splice Technician who can hit the ground running - no training, no hand-holding. You’ll join our growing field operations team responsible for turnkey FTTx builds and emergency fiber restoration projects. If you’re confident with a fusion splicer in your hands and can document work like a pro, we want you on our team.

- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables with a high degree of accuracy.
- Conduct OTDR, light source/power meter, and live fiber testing to verify continuity and quality of splices.
- Read and interpret splice schematics and fiber assignments.
- Maintain detailed and accurate splice documentation, test results, and daily production logs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting network performance during both scheduled and emergency work.
- Work safely and efficiently in underground, aerial, and indoor environments.
- Collaborate with project managers and field crews to ensure timely and clean project delivery.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on splicing experience (no entry-level candidates).
- Must hold a valid Fiber Optic Certification (e.g., FOA CFOT, ETA, or equivalent).
- Proficient with industry-standard testing equipment (OTDRs, power meters, VFLs, etc.).
- Experience with aerial, underground, and inside plant (ISP) environments preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Must be able to work after-hours and weekends, occasionally - for on call/emergency restoration work as needed.
- Willingness to travel to work between states for project assignments and emergency response.
- Clean driving record required.
