The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and facility support activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment and infrastructure. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, completing preventive maintenance, and responding to facility and equipment needs in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements
Perform general maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, air lines, plumbing, and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, including 480VAC circuits, motors, and control components.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and facility layout drawings to support maintenance activities.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, demonstrating a strong understanding of pneumatic principles.
- Execute and manage preventive maintenance (PM) programs, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
- Conduct routine inspections, including fire extinguisher checks and other safety-related assessments.
- Install conduit and run wiring for new and existing electrical systems within the facility.
- Diagnose and repair tow motor issues, including both electrical and LP-powered units.
- Operate and maintain tools and machinery, including grinders, band saws, circular saws, and other powered equipment.
- Design and fabricate small jigs and fixtures with minimal supervision.
- Perform welding and operate oxygen/acetylene torches as required.
- Maintain paint systems, including troubleshooting paint guns, pumps, and mixers.
- Service paint booths by replacing filters and monitoring manometers to ensure proper operation.
- Utilize electrical diagnostic tools, including digital multimeters (DMM), to troubleshoot system issues.
- Align and maintain drive motors to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all applicable safety standards, including PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations, including NEC and NFPA standards.
- Perform light janitorial duties, including cleaning restrooms, maintaining facility cleanliness, and waste removal.
- Operate company vehicles to obtain parts, materials, and supplies as needed.
- Operate equipment such as tow motors and scissor lifts safely and in accordance with company policies.
- Perform outdoor work in various weather conditions, including winter tasks such as salting and clearing walkways.
- Work at heights and in physically demanding environments as required.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintain a production-focused mindset, understanding the impact of equipment downtime.
- Recommend improvements to equipment, facility systems, and preventive maintenance processes.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Work overtime as necessary to meet operational needs.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull materials as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work at heights for extended periods.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of 480VAC systems and industrial electrical components.
- Experience with pneumatic systems and facility maintenance.
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience operating maintenance equipment, lifts, and powered tools.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Ability to pass required screenings (e.g., drug test) and operate industrial equipment.
