Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention Program Consultant/Grant Administrator
40 hours/week, hourly pay, no benefits
Position to be filled through an outside staffing agency. – This is NOT a state position.
Pay range: $36.00 to $50.00
- Programmatic experience in the field of domestic and sexual violence prevention.
- Experience with the state procurement process
- Knowledge of grant programs, monitoring, and evaluation procedures
- Ability and skills to provide consultation and technical assistance to grant funded programs
- Ability to organize, plan, prioritize and manage work and to work on multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and professional manner
- Knowledge of racial disparities and disproportionality.
Work with the Virginia Department of Social Services, Office of Family Violence to administer the Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention Fund (COV Section 63.2-2300) and monitor grants awarded to local agencies providing sexual and domestic violence prevention initiatives through a thorough understanding of and distribution of the grant funds using an annual procurement process. Develops a request for proposals using state procurement practices, processes and utilizes a grants management system
Monitor the grants in accordance with state procurement policies and best practices for the purpose of ensuring public accountability. Monitoring will include ongoing desk audits, site visits, and budget oversight, including invoice processing. Programmatic assistance will include feedback on prevention interventions, improving strategies, and measuring success.
Provide programmatic and technical assistance to sub-grantees, and internal and external partners to promote best practices that support family services and improve client and program outcomes.
Lead Primary Prevention efforts for OFV, connecting with the broader child welfare policies within the Division and comprehensive trauma informed perspectives of VDSS
Successful candidate will also contribute to the capacity of the team with varied responsibilities relying on their expertise with Excel, skills in meeting facilitation, written and oral communication.
