Job Title: Senior Database / SQL Server / SSRS Consultant (Medical Claims Systems)
Location: Paramus, NJ (Onsite with some flexibility)

· Client needs to bring in someone to evaluate their system, make suggestions, and act on what’s decided. This is going to be someone probably on the senior level who has fixed database/integrations with accounting platforms previously. Setting up some automations is a big aspect as well.
· Communication & present needs to be excellent. They are looking for a real person who can add value. Please read carefully.
· Hands-on senior consultant who can dive into a messy, 20-year-old system, fix reporting, and stabilize claims invoicing accounting workflows
Someone who can integrate systems (DB QuickBooks), introduce automation, and bring a more modern, analytics-driven approach
What we need:
• Hands-on senior Database / SQL Server / SSRS consultant who can step into a legacy environment, fix reporting, and stabilize data across claims, invoicing, and accounting.
• Someone who can understand and connect systems (SQL Server QuickBooks), reduce manual processes, and help modernize a 20 year-old platform.
• EPIC experience is a big plus, client is in revenue solutions for healthcare.
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Database / SQL Server / SSRS Consultant to support a proprietary medical claims platform focused on workers compensation and no-fault billing. This is a hands-on role working within a Microsoft-based environment (SQL Server 2019, SSRS) to improve reporting, streamline workflows, and help modernize an aging system.
This role will work closely with IT leadership and accounting stakeholders to bring structure, efficiency, and scalability to a critical business platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and understand existing SQL Server database structures, reporting logic, and system workflows
• Build, optimize, and maintain SSRS reports with a focus on performance, accuracy, and usability
• Troubleshoot and improve inefficient or unreliable reporting processes
• Clean up and stabilize data flows across claims, invoicing, and accounting systems
• Evaluate and implement improved integration between SQL Server and QuickBooks
• Reduce manual processes by introducing automation and more efficient data handling
• Collaborate with IT Director and business stakeholders to identify gaps and implement improvements
• Help modernize a legacy environment with scalable, forward-looking solutions
Required Skills
• Strong experience with SQL Server (2016–2019 ) and advanced T-SQL
• Hands-on experience building and optimizing SSRS reports
• Experience working in legacy or proprietary system environments
• Strong understanding of data flows, reporting logic, and performance tuning
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in loosely structured environments
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Experience integrating with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
• Exposure to ETL tools (SSIS or similar)
• Experience in healthcare, medical billing, claims, or revenue cycle environments
• Familiarity with process automation or workflow optimization
