About the Role:

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments (e.g., climbing ladders, confined spaces, elevated areas).
- Willingness to participate in classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in mechanical, electrical, construction, or building maintenance work.
- Familiarity with safety protocols or building codes.
- Strong interest in vertical transportation systems or technical trades.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with inspections: Help experienced inspectors by observing and testing elevator, escalator, and lift equipment to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and codes.
- Learn safety protocols: Study and apply safety regulations and building codes related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of vertical transportation systems.
- Study technical documents: Learn to read and interpret blueprints and other technical specifications to understand the layout and components of systems.
- Document findings: Assist in preparing written reports of inspection findings, which may include identifying violations and recommending corrective actions.
- Gain hands-on skills: Receive on-the-job training to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in various elevator systems.
- Assist with testing: Participate in testing new, existing, and altered installations to ensure they are safe and meet specifications.
- Learn about maintenance: Develop skills in performing scheduled maintenance and minor repairs to ensure continued safe and reliable operation.
