The Chaplain Hourly provides chaplaincy service to patients, families and staff of the VCU Medical Center. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: One (1) full-time year post-Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience, which may include second year residency. Experience PREFERRED: Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center Education/training REQUIRED: 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The most recent unit of CPE must have been completed in the last 7 years. Education/training PREFERRED: Two to three units of CPE through ACPE. Training at a level-1 trauma center and/or pediatric hospital. Independent action(s) required: Responds to requests for chaplaincy services/spiritual care. Consults with department staff chaplains in complex patient care situations. Ability to triage requests and multi-task. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Scheduled to work based on departmental needs including day of requests.
