What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Manager- Faculty Practice position at VCU Dental Care?
Chief Purpose of the Position
The Practice Manager is responsible for managing the work of all clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure service delivery in practice and all operational aspects within a specified practice to achieve excellent customer service, quality, cost and delivery performance in line with company strategy, goals and values. Provide support and direction to enhance performance, skills and knowledge of practice staff within the practice to work closely with the organization’s program directors, faculty, and department chairs to deliver quality dental care and service to patients as well as quality educational experience to residents and students.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required
- Working knowledge of dental terminology, coding, and insurance protocols
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead and manager diverse teams
- Proficiency in axiUm required; Epic proficiency preferred
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and EHR systems)
- Ability to interpret and prepare financial data and reports
- Knowledge of patient care protocols, regulations, and standards
- Understanding of dental front office operations, including scheduling, eligibility, authorizations, and collections
- Ability to make sound administrative and procedural decisions
- Understanding of fiscal management principles and procedures
Education level and experience required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- 3 years of dental office managerial experience required
Hiring Range: commensurate with experience.
