Responsibilities:
- Develop customer intimacy through regular store visits and competitive shopping; applies findings with Sales and Product Development team.
- Develop and present an overall product assortment for each season.
- Supervise the product development process to ensure that the merchandise consistently appeals to the customer's needs.
- Responsible for all meetings and outcomes and make sure the team adheres to project deadlines.
- Communicate with company management to recommend business opportunities and ways to increase sales and optimize profit.
- Partner with Design and stay current on fashion and technology trends. Bring customer and market perspectives to the design and product development process.
- Approve sketches, color prints, and concepts with the Design team.
- Collaborate with design, product development and sourcing staff to meet costing targets on all products developed seasonally.
- Attend sales meetings and make presentations as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 5 years in Home Textiles/ Fashion/ Apparel merchandising
- Must have acute sense of customer intimacy and product category.
- Strong English language skills, written and verbal.
- Able to make presentations in front of customers.
- Strategic thinking and management skills.
- Multi-functional with excellent organizational skills.
- Computer literate. Knowledge of Design a plus.
- Excellent analytic skills needed with a knowledge of P& L, costing/margins
