What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Consultant position at Vci Emergency Vehicle Specialists?
Key Responsibilities
Territory & Account Management (Territory to include Long Island, NY and NYC region)
- Manage and grow all accounts within an assigned territory
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities with municipalities, fire departments, EMS agencies, hospitals, and private operators
- Represent the company at trade shows, product demonstrations, customer meetings, and industry events
- Actively participate in internal meetings and company initiatives
Customer Engagement & Sales Execution
- Present vehicle solutions, features, and value propositions to customers
- Develop customized proposals and quotes aligned with client needs
- Guide customers through the full sales lifecycle, from initial contact through delivery and post-sale support
- Coordinate with service teams to support long-term customer satisfaction
Product Knowledge & Compliance
- Maintain a strong understanding of product lines, specifications, and available options (Horton, AEV, Medix, remounts, conversions)
- Stay current on industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive offerings
- Ensure all sales activities align with company guidelines and profitability standards
Pipeline & Reporting Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, opportunities, and customer interactions within the CRM system
- Provide regular updates to Sales Management on pipeline activity, closed business, and forecasts
Performance Expectations
- Consistently work toward achieving established sales goals and objectives
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and demonstrate effective follow-through on opportunities
- Contribute to overall territory growth and long-term customer retention, many of our customers are repeat VCI customers
Support & Resources
- Access to marketing materials, product resources, and demonstration units
- Sales training and ongoing coaching support
- CRM and lead management tools
- Collaboration with internal teams and OEM partners
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent communications and negotiation skills are a must.
- Applicants should have familiarity with emergency vehicles and equipment such as features, customization options, technical specifications and industry regulations.
- Comfort with technology and tools such as CRM systems and MS Office.
- Ability to answer complex questions about vehicle capabilities.
Salary : $85,000
