Interior Designer

Overview

VCBO is looking for an Interior Designer to join our design team and help shape interior environments from early concepts through project documentation and construction. You’ll work alongside architects, interior designers, consultants, and project teams to develop thoughtful spaces that respond to client needs while aligning with the overall architectural vision.

You’ll contribute to space planning, material selection, detailing, documentation, and coordination while continuing to build your design and technical abilities. This role offers exposure to multiple aspects of the project process, with room to strengthen your judgment, take ownership of your work, and grow within VCBO’s interior design practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to interior design efforts from concept through construction.
• Develop design studies, space plans, material and finish selections, details, and project documentation.
• Translate design concepts into functional, well-coordinated interior solutions.
• Coordinate interior design work with architects, consultants, and other project disciplines.
• Balance design intent with technical and practical considerations throughout the design process.
• Participate in project and team communication while taking ownership of assigned work.
• Incorporate feedback and quality standards into design and documentation.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of interior design principles and a desire to continue developing technical and creative skills.
• Familiarity with relevant design and production software and the ability to learn new tools and processes.
• Ability to produce thoughtful, accurate design and documentation work.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with project teams and coordinate across disciplines.
• Degree in interior design or an applicable field preferred.
• Professional licensure is not required. VCBO welcomes both licensed and unlicensed interior design professionals.
