- Providing compassionate care for patients in all interactions.
- Preparing and verifying dispensed medications and in hospital administration
- Collecting and processing lab samples
- Performing venipuncture and placing IV catheters (advanced skill).
- Conducting hands-free radiography (with sedation if required).
- Preparing and administering vaccines and subcutaneous fluids
- Assisting surgical staff with surgical and dental procedure preparation, practice, recovery and clean up.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records through EMR systems.
- Performing basic hospital maintenance including but not limited to: laundry, cleaning, restocking and organizing
- Client education and care though all phases of the client journey
- Communicating with pet owners with professionalism and empathy.
- Greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and pets to exam rooms.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Placing follow-up calls and reaching out to prospective clients.
- Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
- Recommending, selecting, and dispensing products and services, including prescriptions.
- Answering client questions regarding hospital services and general pet care (e.g., heartworm prevention, flea/tick control, housebreaking).
- Managing medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness and sanitation at all times, including removal of animal waste, to ensure a neat and welcoming environment both inside and outside the facility.
