Internal Medicine specialists are often considered the puzzle solvers of Veterinary Medicine. VCA Aurora’s Internal Medicine service is equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings—no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. Our Internal Medicine service diagnoses and treats the many serious diseases that can affect our patients' internal body systems.
The responsibilities of our Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistants include supporting the Internists and contributing to a collaborative environment to deliver thorough patient care. Our support staff are a vital reason we can help patients feel better and why pet parents feel a little more at ease because their family members are being cared for with great medicine and warm hearts.

Responsibilities
- Assist doctors and technicians with appointments, procedures, and patient care
- Safely restrain and handle patients
- Prepare patients and treatment areas for diagnostics and procedures
- Monitor hospitalized and outpatient pets as directed
- Maintain clean and organized treatment areas
- Assist with medical records and documentation
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients
- Support appointment coordination and record collection
- 1 years of Veterinary Assistant experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Compassionate and professional communication
