This leadership role is ideal for a licensed veterinary technician with a strong background in emergency and team management. The Emergency Overnight RVT Supervisor will oversee nightly operations, ensure clinical excellence, and foster a collaborative and compassionate work environment.
Key Responsibilities Department Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate the daily workflow of the surgery department. - Manage scheduling for procedures, staff shifts, lunches, and overtime
- Ensure compliance with VCA policies and protocols
- Work closely with the day ECC RVT Supervisor.
- Perform and oversee tasks such as anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, radiographs, and surgical assistance
- Maintain high standards of patient care and safety
- Support advanced surgical procedures and emergency cases
- Train, mentor, and evaluate surgical team members
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture
- Lead by example with professionalism, empathy, and integrity
- Maintain respectful and effective communication with doctors, clients, and staff
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to address concerns and improve operations
- Participate in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a veterinary emergency setting
- Strong clinical skills in triage, and patient monitoring
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to lead with compassion and motivate others
- Comfortable working 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, including occasional weekends
