Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to support the daily operational needs of our 49,000 sq. ft. hospital. This role focuses on practical, day-to-day maintenance work while providing leadership and direction to our housekeeping team. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who enjoys rolling up their sleeves
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Perform and oversee daily facility maintenance and repair tasks to keep the hospital safe, functional, and efficient.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate issues involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, workstation/computer setup, and emergency generator support.
- Complete general building upkeep including painting, patching, minor repairs, light carpentry, and regular facility improvements.
- Maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance checklists (HVAC units, generators, O₂ cages, etc.).
- Supervise the housekeeping team: schedule coverage, assign tasks, support performance, and ensure hospital cleanliness standards are met.
- Coordinate outside vendors and contractors with the Hospital Manager; assist with gathering quotes and ensuring work is completed as expected.
- Partner with hospital leadership and staff, communicating clearly and working productively with a variety of teams and personalities.
- 3 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or a related hands-on role.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and basic building systems (no engineering certification required).
- Experience with generator systems preferred.
- Prior leadership or team-lead experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on select medical equipment is a plus.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stay on top of recurring maintenance schedules.
- Able to work independently while also collaborating with hospital teams.
- Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed based on hospital operations.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 5 x 8-hour shifts. Available on-call for weekends as needed.
Compensation: $ 50,000 - $65,000/ yearly
