Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director/Assistant Director/Manager of Pharmacy Services, the Registered Pharmacist provides indirect patient care and ensures safe, effective, and compliant medication use. The role involves collaboration with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical services in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders against patient medication profiles for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy standards, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to optimize patient medication therapy
• Provide clinical support and drug information to healthcare teams
• Monitor patient responses to medications and recommend therapy adjustments when appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation of pharmacy interventions and patient records
• Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and commitment to continuous professional development
• Uphold exceptional customer service standards in all interactions

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy (minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy)
• Current New York State Pharmacist License/Registration
• Successful completion of Hospital and Departmental Orientation Program
• Hospital pharmacy experience required
• Flu vaccination required (no exceptions)
