Schedule: Full-time - 5 days - 35 hrs/wk (7:45am - 3:15pm)
Job Goal(s): The overall job goal of the Production Manager is to manage automotive repair production, manage student workers, ensure quality work on vehicles, and assist the instructors as needed.
Qualifications:
Certification: Michigan/ASE Certification Required (or Qualifications to Obtain)
Work Experience: Demonstrated successful work history in the auto industry
Skills:
- Possess good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with students and others
- Ability to work as a team player
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to complete auto repair tasks
- Possess basic business skills, including cashier operations, invoicing, billing, and all inventory control record-keeping
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage daily operation of the Auto Production Department.
- Discuss student progress and needs with the instructor on a regular basis.
- Assist in monitoring student academic progress.
- Participate/be involved with advisory committee meetings.
- Inspect and verify work done and test drive after to verify proper function.
- Assist instructor with the implementation of student lessons and projects.
- Assist students with completing auto-related lessons and projects.
- Adapt and learn new technologies related to the auto industry.Assist instructor with creating relationships within the Van Buren County automotive industry.
- Participate as a member of a team to assist with problem-solving situations as they relate to student and program needs.
- Provide instruction, under the direction of the instructor or substitute teacher, with high school students possessing a full range of abilities.
- Monitor lockers, uniforms, safety glasses, and production supplies.
- Coordinate (with the parts supervisor) the itemizing and completion of work orders.
- Monitor the security and condition of production equipment and tools.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the instructor/administration.
- Valid driver's license required.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
