The Role

As a Vehicle Driver at Vay, you will operate and support remotely driven vehicles in Las Vegas as part of a structured, safety-first mobility system.

All candidates go through one unified hiring process. Based on performance, experience, and operational needs, you will be assigned to one of the following tracks at offer stage:

• Remote Driver (in-office vehicle operation station)
  
  
  
  

• Safety Driver (training & testing support)
  
  
  
  

• Field Support Driver (fleet operations & vehicle readiness)
  
  

Each track plays a critical role in keeping our system safe, reliable, and operational.

What you'll do

Remote Driver Track

• Operate vehicles remotely from our Las Vegas driving station
• Deliver vehicles safely to customers within the service area
• Maintain exceptional situational awareness and hazard anticipation
• Follow strict safety and escalation protocols
• Support engineering feedback and system improvement
  
  

Safety Driver Track

• Act as in-vehicle Safety Driver during remote driver training
• Execute mapping and engineering test drives
• Support system validation and connectivity testing
• Communicate clearly with engineers and remote drivers
• Follow defined test plans and operating procedures without deviation
  
  

Field Support Driver Track

• Rebalance vehicles across Las Vegas
• Charge, clean, and inspect vehicles before deployment
• Complete pre- and post-drive safety checklists
• Support customer handoffs and pickups when required
• Ensure vehicles are road-ready at all times
  
  

What We're Looking For

Minimum requirements:

• 25 years of age or older
• Valid Nevada driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass drug screening (including THC)
• Flexible availability across morning, afternoon, and night shifts (5 days over 7)
• Strong safety mindset and disciplined decision-making
• Comfortable using digital tools and technology
• Minimum 1 years Professional driving experience (autonomous, bus, limo, rideshare, delivery, fleet, taxi, testing environments, etc.)
• Gaming or simulator experience is a plus for candidates aligned to the Remote Driver track.
  
  

Compensation & Progression

• Field Support Agent & Safety Driver Tracks: $18/hour
• Remote Driver Track: $18/hour during training, increasing up to $25/hour upon certification
• Remote Drivers: are eligible for a monthly safety performance bonus
  
  

This structure provides a clear internal progression pathway:

Field Support / Safety → Remote Driver certification → Higher earning potential

All roles are hourly (W2), are 40 hours per week with different shift patterns available & eligible for overtime.
