Veterans Alliance USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans through housing assistance, emergency financial relief, community resources, and programs designed to help veterans regain stability and independence.
We are growing our community outreach team and looking for motivated, dependable, and outgoing individuals who want to make a difference while earning competitive performance-based compensation.
Position Overview
As a Community Outreach Representative, you will represent Veterans Alliance USA at approved storefront locations, local businesses, and community events throughout the Reno/Sparks area.
Your primary responsibility will be engaging with members of the public, educating them about our mission, raising awareness of veteran-related challenges, and encouraging charitable donations to support our programs.
No prior fundraising experience is required. We provide training!
Key Responsibilities
- Represent Veterans Alliance USA professionally at designated outreach locations.
- Engage with community members in a friendly, confident, and respectful manner.
- Educate the public about our nonprofit's mission, programs, and impact.
- Encourage voluntary donations to support local veterans.
- Maintain accurate records of donations collected.
- Set up and maintain outreach tables and promotional materials.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
- Meet reasonable outreach and fundraising performance expectations.
- Follow all organizational policies and fundraising procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with new people.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during outreach shifts.
- Previous customer service, retail, sales, or fundraising experience is a plus but not required.
