What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Document Inspector position at VAUPELL INDUSTRIAL?
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm
Position Purpose:
Under the direction of the QA Lead and Supervisor, the Shipping Document Inspector oversees the quality of shipping documents, defined by Quality Engineering in conjunction with customer requirements and Vaupell QMS.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Inspect shipping documents using records and the MRP system
- Provide feedback on documentation and ensure requirements are met
- Verify and review material certifications
- Track metrics related to document errors
- Generate the Certificates of Conformance (CoC)
- Perform shipping document buy-offs
- Suggest improvements to shipping processes
- Support the key departmental initiatives
- Assist with the administration of Corrective and Preventative Actions
- Maintain quality records
- Embrace a continuous improvement environment and encourage changes that result from improvement efforts
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic math, problem solving & computer skills
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Works well individually or within a team
- Ability to understand and read/write in English
- Ability to read aerospace drawings, blueprints and specifications are a plus
- Knows when to seek clarification on problems
Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Environmental Condition
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
