Position Purpose
Obtains materials and components to ensure the production schedules are met. Reviews material purchases for cost effectiveness and in accordance with supply chain, plant and corporate goals.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Determines demand for direct materials using projected material requirements in ERP system, historical data and other tools and places purchase order for this demand.
- Maintains and accurately updates purchase order changes, tracking of acknowledgements, status of orders and reports late orders to interested parties.
- Identifies and works with necessary parties on any bill of material issues.
- Assist in maintaining ASL
- Running reports for supplier OTD and Quality to maintain supplier Rating score card and issuing notifications or corrective actions to those below performance thresholds.
- Updating the necessary managers of pricing increase.
- Communicates status of outstanding orders as well as discrepancies with quality, quantity, and pricing.
- Run, review and act upon daily material monitoring reports as needed.
- Coordination of purchasing efforts with Scheduler.
- Disposition of open supplier invoices when necessary.
- Follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field or 5 years’ experience in material/supply chain planning or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts i.e. discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.
- Competency in ERP (preferably IQMS), MS Office applications and MS Outlook are essential.
- Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
- Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment.
Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
Environmental Condition
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
